I walked in and felt as if through the front door I was magically transported to some awesome market or grocery store in a Spanish speaking country. I like it! I lived in Ecuador down in South America for some time years ago doing some volunteer work over there. I also travel to Mex every chance I get..... before the covid times. So I do very much have a fondness for establishments that remind me of places I've visited in other countries. I don't have some kind of specific product or anything like that to highlight. I just overall liked the experience of being at Mi Tienda. Has a great vibe to it in my opinion. I'll be back at some point to hang around here and see what interesting food find...
They don't care about cheating their customers, obviously. I had quite a time getting the sale price for something I found in a large bin on my way in the store. Even the bagger had a picture in his phone, obviously because he'd had to verify that before. The supervisor came by and she was quite rude. She explained that the 5 for 1 garlic hadn't been entered into the system and that was why I was being charged $1.67 for 5. When I tried to say something, she asked me to let her finish. Great customer service! So I wonder how many poor families who don't check their receipts had the pay the non sale price. Way to go guys!
Mi tienda es una filial del HEB donde además de los productos normales puedes encontrar gran variedad de productos hispanos, principalmente mexicanos. Es como ir a un mercado en Mexico, con su tortillería, carnicería, panadería, refresqueria, hasta cocina donde se puede uno deleitas con platillos calientitos.
I absolutely love visiting this place! They offer a wide variety of products, from HEB items to Asian snacks and delicious churros. There's even a lovely restaurant inside that I haven't had the opportunity to try yet, but I definitely plan to on my next visit!

The tamales were the worst I've ever had. I had to throw them away because they didn't look edible at all. I'm really disappointed.
