I have been familiar with this place for years and slowly it's getting worse. We thought we would give it another try and this time it confirmed that we are done and will never return, which is a shame because it's a nice location and...kept clean. The steaks this time around were on first attempt undercooked and then came back overcooked. They tasted so bland with no flavor and frypan sizzle on the outside that made them taste like oven cooked roast beef. They use to be a BBQ grill steak up until a few weeks ago so they appear to have gone to a hotplate or frypan and oven so if you are after a nice tasting steak avoid. I ordered two meals and two drinks at this restaurant and waited for a long time without any service. A large table next to us arrived, ordered, got their drinks and food, while we continued to wait. When we finally asked a server about our order, they disappeared for 10 minutes without any explanation or apology. This restaurant used to be good, but I will not be returning as there are better and more affordable options out there. Despite the high prices for dishes like eggs benedict at $22 and a simple sandwich at $11, the service was extremely lacking. I will be sure to tell others about the disappointing experience I had at this restaurant.
After having a great dining experience as a couple on our first night in Surfers Paradise, we decided to bring our family back a week later. We were impressed by the diverse and affordable menu options, particularly the delicious Risotto and cocktails. Unfortunately, there was an incident where an elderly customer accidentally broke a glass, resulting in a cut hand. The manager quickly provided first aid with a well-equipped first aid kit and handled the situation professionally. After cleaning up the table and surrounding area, we were able to continue our dinner and had a great time. Thank you.
a group of 5 including 1 child. the usual said to order from app. steak offered choice of the soße no option yet to specify. had to go to choose because waitress could not understand my request. two meals and children who were brought to the table....These were done before other two came. I was on the table. no offer of salt, pfeffer had to ask again, then only paper packages. Overall, eating was hardly edible. the staff is uninterested, never asked how it was eating. no caffe or restaurant glorified fast eating. eat nothing like descriptions or pictures here!

I came here quite early to get an breakfast before I started my long day of walks to the spit. I ordered some eggs and speck and large cup latte together with a large glass pineapple juice. I was impressed by the attention of the various young ladies who served me and made my visit a warm and friendly. all very nice.
Asked bartender for a taste of unknown cider, his response was "you stand no chance mate" my response ok you stand no chance of getting my money. We went next door fabulous. If the service isn't great, go to the next place and you could be so pleasantly surprised.
Went to Charlies and i cant recommend it enough. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much. The food was incredible and cooked to perfection. Our waitress Ruth was exceptional and our granddaughter was smitten with her.
Gold Coast is our regular holiday destination! Just as Charlies is our regular place to go for great meals and great drinks! Huge shout out to 3 of their staff... Kynan - young fella who was ultra friendly, so friendly

Food was terrible. Sent back the first dish and ordered something else. The second meal was plain, uninspiring and something I'd never expect to receive from a Cafe or restaurant.
