Chau Veggie Express

A friend brought me to Chau Veggie Express for my first taste of this 100% vegan restaurant on Granville Island. It's well worth the trek there!I was recommended the Golden Temple Soup and it was delicious. The broth is delightfully creamy and comforting, yet light and so flavorful with veggies that were done just right. It had a few too many tofu chunks for my personal preference, but so good overall. Very filling and feels fresh with a spectrum of colorful veggies.Also tried the spring rolls which were delightful tasty, and not thickly rolled or hard at all. The taro chips were also quite good; crispy, great flavor and came with a great dipping sauce.Next time, I look forward to exploring...

Great public market to start, it’s the perfect hustle and bustle paired w an amazing view and great food. Chau has lots of great options and they’re hearty and refreshing especially in the summer heat. I would highly recommend. Bonus: basically everything they use for their orders is compostableVegetarian options: It’s a vegetarian restaurant

Ate the rickety rickshaw salad. It comes with 3 small very oily pieces of spring role. Overall, it lack flavour. We went back to request an extra fish sauce to try to augment the flavour and express our disappointment with the dish. They insisted on charging us an extra $1 for the fish sauce.

As a gluten-free vegetarian, I was very happy to find this place. Ordered the Rickety Rickshaw Bowl and was not disappointed. The Iced Vietnamese Coffee was also an excellent choice.

Shared the rice fields bowl! Amazing and enough to share. The counter lady was very helpfu. The Vietnamese coffee was perfect with coconut milk
