Chef John's Fish Chips

I've only had the deep fried fish and 4 shrimp $18 and ordered an extra side of hush puppies. My order is usually $24.00. It comes with fries and 2 sauces of your choice (hot sauce, tartar sauce, ketchup, and i forgot the others). Hush puppies are extra cost, around $5 to $6 for 6 pieces. The first 5 times, I truly enjoyed my food. The last time I went, it wasn't as good. I'm not sure if they are cutting back on the quality or not. They are always busy so people like their food. Yes, I would buy from them again. It's deep fried, so I don't try to eat it often, but every now and then, I go clog up the arteries and enjoy my fish.

Freshest fish and chips you can get in Lemon Grove. The cook won't make it until you're done ordering, so it will come out extra crispy and hot. Their price has risen a lot since pre-pandemic so I don't come here as often as before but regardless of price, they're the best in town in my opinion if you're craving for fish and chips.

The best! They prep it fresh! Sometimes its best to order ahead and time it right or just have patience if a busy time. Fish and chips the best! Something great with the batter they use for the fish. They dont try to override with extra batter when frying and you get alot of fish! I always go here.

Everything was absolutely delicious! The hush puppies, fish, and fried zucchini were fantastic! Fresh and flavorful, and I particularly loved the malt vinegar! The restaurant was spotless as well. Thank you! I will definitely be back! Réservez une table maintenant

The food is excellent. One serving is sufficient for one person, though it is on the pricey side. It's worth the splurge, but at $15 for lunch, you might not leave feeling completely full. The fish is fresh and cooked to perfection.

This is the best fish and chips in San Diego County! I've been to the Pacific Northwest, and this place stands up to those famous fish and chips spots. Everything was fantastic. You absolutely have to try it—you won’t regret it!

Solid fish food restaurant. Chef John and fam, been around for some time. I can't tell you how long but it's good seafood. . I'm a pescatarian. I do have to say. The wait times can be long here as the food is prepared fresh.

Very nice small family-run joint. Very friendly and very good fresh food! Nothing was bad or even okay, everything was great. Although he fried was nothing fat or oily. Réservez une table maintenant

It is a good fish and chip place. Food is fresh and cooked to order. It's rather expensive for what it is. The interior is seriously outdated.
