After my visit to Chef Racks Garlic Crabs, I find myself questioning the accuracy of previous reviews. I’ll start by saying that the fried shrimp and fried fish were decent, but that’s where the positivity ends. Our fries were not fresh, despite waiting 30 minutes for our order (which was initially quoted as 15 minutes). They were lukewarm and rather soggy, lacking any crispiness. While they were seasoned adequately, it wasn’t enough to redeem them. We were charged an extra dollar for their garlic sauce, which honestly didn’t impress me. This is the best spot for garlic crabs and seafood in the South! The savory garlic butter sauce that clings to the snow crab is simply unbeatable. The snow crabs were cooked to perfection. My absolute favorite fried dish is the whiting—it’s crispy and flaky, exactly how I enjoy it. The fries were hot, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. I also had the chef's signature garlic sauce drizzled on top, just the way I like it. It was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this place! I've traveled to many restaurants, but none can compare to this flavor.
OMG!! I tip my hat to you Chef Racks!! Your food was so delicious I can still taste it in my mouth! I am going to be a lifetime customer!! I loved the fish and the seasonings! Your garlic butter was awesome!! Trust me I'm going to try everything on yourmenu! Nice place, great customer service and excellent food!! Was looking for a good seafood location while in North Charleston and took at chance at Chef Racks. So glad we did. It's a small, quaint place but we loved it! Staff provided top notch service. Food was so good and the pineapple lemonade was awesome too. We will definitely visit here again.

Chef Racks' butter garlic sauce is absolutely amazing! Everything I've tried there deserves a 5-star rating, including the pineapple lemonade, which is fantastic. Whenever I visit Charleston, this restaurant is always one of my top favorites!
The egg taste like he soaked it in vinegar, I bought $106 worth of food which I regret. The crabs and shrimp fries was good but everything not worth the price, sauce was to much a little goes a long way.
The food was absolutely delicious! The service was fantastic, and the portion sizes were generous—I had enough to last me for two days. I live three hours away, but I will definitely be coming back!
Food and customer service was outstanding. Best seafood I ever had. My sisters and I were visiting from out of town and found this hidden gem. We cannot wait to come back. 10/10
