Here for Sunday lunch last weekend. The service was exceptional. My husband had visited in the past and knew it was a Prix Fixe menu, but it was my first time. It was a pleasure to get a sommelier on our table to meet us and advise on a Cabernet we both enjoyed. I ordered escargot in other restaurants, but that was really authentic. Do not let it intimidate you because they were easily removed from their shells, as well. I ordered the calfsal and it was a great choice. The sauce was a nice compliment to the flavors. The fillet of my husband was perfectly cooked and the mushrooms were so good! The raspberry soufflé was the best I ever had. We recommend L’Auberge Chez Francois. You will definitely spend more than usual for a meal, but if you have the best fresh ingredients prepared by a really gifted cook, you will see the value. Also, It is not just about food, it is an experience.
Fantastic fine dining experience. We came here on a Sunday afternoon for a family event and it was fantastic, and so worth it. I really enjoyed the fact the restaurant is secluded and quiet. The menu could be overwhelming at first, but the staff is super patient, kind and informative. The fixed-price menu includes an appetizer, salad, entree and dessert. La Coquille de Crustaces was a very delicious and fresh appetizer I would recommend to those that love seafood. For an entree, the lamb chops were perfectly cooked and seasoned, while the ice cream dessert with pie was great without being too sweet. The salad would be the only dish I thought tasted “average” amongst all the other spectacular dishes. While you wait for your food, they will bring out fresh bread, butter and a cheese mix that is delicious. We also got a small cup serving of soup (yum! .
Tellement heureux d 'avoir découvert ce petit resto typique, je me devais de le faire découvrir sur Tripadvisor. La cuisine de chez mamie servie comme à la maison, le service décontracté et souriant nous met dans l 'ambiance immédiatement. Pas de chichi dans la déco, retour dans le passé. Les habitués ne si trompent pas, leur trésor était jusqu 'à présent gardé secrètement. Les tarifs, plus que raisonnables, en font un un établissement à ne pas rater et enfin, à la sortie de table, nous sommes rassasiés.
Very good authentic French cuisine, but very pricy. I get the vibe of the decor they were going for, but it’s very dated in my opinion. On the other hand, all the dishes we had were beautifully prepared. Overall, you won’t regret coming here for a wonderful meal, just be prepare to shell out $200+ per person. It’s definitely a special occasion type of restaurant.
