I haven't been to Cibo for a very long time and now I know why. We popped in recently for a quick drink on our beach walk and all we wanted were 2 hot chocolates. We were waiting for our order for over 10 minutes, it was really disappointing. The staff making the coffee really needed to move at a faster pace, particularly given the number of people ordering hot drinks on a cold day. When we did get our drink it was so weak and milky you would have thought they left the chocolate out of it. I won't be in a rush to go back and will support other independent cafes in the square next time I want a hot drink to warm me up.
Cibo is a franchise so the food is the same in every outlet - prepared and not all that exciting, and it seems to be either sugar or carb loaded. However, for a quick coffee, the one at Henley Beach was fine and in this case, the service provided by the barista was exceptional. Good views out to the ocean and there is an outside area which they enclosed with clear blinds on windy days.Summary: service good, coffee well made, food ordinary, location great with easy parking nearby on the foreshore.
Routine Saturday bike ride with the boys and stop at Cibo for a coffee and a break, no cake ok ! .Coffee served is great and has a strong aroma taste.Always busy in and out.Today we were caught out with intermittent rain,and no where to sit inside.It would be great if they had outside enclosed with blinds or a verandah so we don't get wet while having our coffee .
The coffee is always good and the out door seating area is nice with views over the jetty and beach. The view is obscured by the surf club but its still a great place for a coffee on a summers morning when there is little wind and nice and warm. Its popular so you always have to wait for 10 to 15 minutes for your order. Réservez une table maintenant
Hubby and I had a quick coffee and focaccia pit stop as we were strolling the foreshore. Nice clean venue with plenty of outdoor seating protected from weather. Unfortunately no sea view as surf life saving club obstructs view. Coffee nice. Focaccia could have more filling but overall good value for money.
