We hosted friends to treat them to a fine dining experience and it worked out very well. The food and quality ingredients were well prepared, the plating was attractive, the tastes combined very well, the wines we chose were tops, our seating was comfortable and the view of the Loire was wonderful. However, as this restaurant is competing in the forefront of high-end restaurants and its clients are not just coming here to fill their bellies, its faults come to attention as well. Chiefly: the dècor needs a design makeover/upgrade to match the cuisine's elegance. (Our plastic covering on the wood table was frayed on the edge and, sure enough, the next table's also. Why plastic covers anyway? I would not advise a romantic couple to eat here because the ambience, though serviceable, lacks chic. On the other hand, for tasting the regional cuisine as a tourist and imbuing the atmosphere of the Loire river along the levee road, I recommend it.
We had an absolutely outstanding meal here on 17 August. There are 4 set menus to choose from starting from around 35 Euros. We went for the menu Instinct which was around 45 euros for 4 courses from memory. However there was also an amuse Bouche , beautiful bread and petit fours to finish . The food was absolutely delicious, all locally sourced and felt very seasonal and fresh. The wine menu was great too. I had a glass of local Cremant which was 6 euros and our 13 year old had a large glass of delicious local apple juice. Don’t let the location and very unassuming exterior put you off. This place is well worth visiting if you’re in the area and deserves a Michelin Star
Un des meilleurs restaurants que nous ayons fait. Le concept de menu à l'aveugle est un peu déstabilisant et pourtant c'est ce qui fait que nous avons très bien mangé. Nous avons découvert des saveurs que nous n'aurions pas osé commander. Les vins qui accompagnaient le repas étaient très bien choisis. Nous y retournerons les yeux fermés.
Nous avons passer un très agréable moment samedi 4 décembre. Quelle surprise de déguster des plats à l'aveugle proposés par le chef Mathieu Roux qui se sont révélés excellents (mise en bouche entrée plat dessert). Un cadre chaleureux avec la cheminée qui crépite. Merci pour tout, Nous recommandons à 100% cet établissement !
