About an hour ago, I went out for lunch at Clipper with friends, and I ordered the bruschetta ($8.50) with tomato, avocado and basil and also a side of feta for an additional $3.50. Their bruschetta consisted of six slices of green tomato, a few pieces of basil, and a smear of avocado across the bottom of the toast. As well as two cubes of feta cheese. I'm not one to post reviews, let alone bad ones, but I think the response I got from the owners was pretty poor. When I calmly explained to them that the quality of this meal was not worth $8.50, they did nothing to rectify the situation beyond telling me that in the 9 years they had the cafe, no one else had complained, damning my opinion. Ordered a breakfast pudding and a latte. Must say, the slices of strawberry were delicately arranged with small coconut shavings. The taste of the pudding was just right, slightly leaning towards the stronger side - "that's what I like" (I don't like bland food).
Their coffee was just about ok, I think I was sitting outside so I didn't get the fresh whiff of coffee aroma, the taste was slightly on the weaker side. I guess it's just me, I prefer strong and robust coffee aroma and taste.
Not the cheapest place though.. I guess you can say that about most cafes ????
Tried there eggs benedict here,I enjoyed it but the egg and the hollandaise sauce was so overpowering I couldn't taste the pulled pork
My banana smoothie, though by colour looks liked a smoothie full of berries was better than expected,this was the best of the things I tried
My missus couldn't finish her chicken pesto gnocchi and I could taste why. The flavour was too overpowering
I do like the decor and ambience inside
The staff was friendly and the food came out at a reasonable rate

Staff was friendly but apart of that, we did not enjoy ourselves! It was cold at 8 degrees outside and doors open. The bread looked/tasted old and food was nothing special. Both of us used to like this place years back. Not sure if our expectations increased or the cafe changed! Would not come back!
Clipper Café is one of my favorite spots to go to for brekkie and to study. They have wifi which is always nice to find as a Uni student. Staff is always friendly and everything on the menu is good. Try the pancakes, they're the perfect combination of sweet and savory.
Coffee was great! I have tried a lot of coffee at different places and the ones here are fantastic. Great texture in the mouth and beans are fragrant. Food is exceptional too with good price. Would recommend coming here. Service is friendly and welcoming
great atmosphere with many sitting. extensive menu with its standard options. I had the omlette with pesto, loved it! will definate this at home cooking!Service was prompt and friendly.Thanks team!

I have been going to this cafe at least once a week for the past three years. Its always good & definitely great value.
It is a good little cafe mid week, during office hours to go and do computer work whilst sipping at a coffee.
