I've been Cluck2Go hopping recently. I became a big fan after trying the location in Pasadena, and just recently tried the one in Rowland Heights five days ago. Out of the three locations, this is the smallest. Not sure if this is a chain or a franchise, but noticed the menu has been different at each location. It appears they all condensed the menu down recently to just Hainan chicken and few appetizers, with the exception of Rowland Heights location. Tried the regular Hainan Chicken with Rice and Fried Hainan Chicken with Rice, which are about the only entree items here. They were both good, but I still prefer the regular one, as it has a cleaner taste. Also tried the Spicy Cucumber Salad,...
Quality and quantity varies very location. I would head over to the Rowland Heights location instead. My husband picked up the order and had said that the employee was pretty rude. My personal gripe is when restaurants charge for condiments. We already ordered the meal, why tack on a measly 25cents for the soy sauce. It's like charging ketchup with your fries. We ordered the 2-3 person meal. And usually we have left overs for lunch. Today we finished our meal, still hungry. Portions are less. Bowls for the rice we're filled halfway. The spicy cold cucumbers were not as tasty as other locations. Usually it's quality over quantity. Here it's bad quality and lessened quantity.
This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. The food was always excellent, and even with a few minor price increases, it was still a great value. However, after some recent staff changes, I’ve had a frustrating experience—I can’t even place an order anymore. The new team doesn't answer the phone, and they've started charging for items that used to be complimentary. In just one month, this has gone from one of my go-to spots to a place I simply can’t visit anymore. I hope you're enjoying whatever slight profit margins your new staff has generated while watching loyal customers like me walk away.
I prefer this location over the one on Nogales and Colima. The guy working here is much nicer and friendlier than the other location. If you ask for extra sauce, he's willing to give it to you without any issues. The other location would act like it costs them an arm and a leg for even one extra sauce.

今天要介紹的是也是我心裡的心頭好， 文昌雞飯， 一家從羅蘭崗吃到 鑽石吧的鄰家餐館， 以前要吃海南雞飯，常常會跑老遠的到valley Garfield 那吃那間無人不知的餐館， 後來有這家文昌雞飯後， 我就徹底的變心了， 要讓我們專情的處女座變心，一定要比兩把刷子多，因為這新歡又好吃，又便宜， 又很多花樣， 還有每次去都有個態度很好的小鮮肉。所以不能怪我只見新人笑，不見舊人哭, 任誰都會移情別戀的... 海南雞的部分，我每次都點他們的半隻雞, 黑肉，再配點不同的菜色， 喜歡吃海南雞飯的客官們， 他們有3 . 4 家分店，這家自己來看看，也許就會跟我一樣，一試成主顧了
Make sure to call ahead! The phone just keeps ringing, and later it turns out they’re busy. They were closed even though their posted hours say they should be open. Online ordering was also unavailable. It’s confusing since they’ve recently finished renovations.
The best Hainan chicken I've had—truly authentic! However, I did notice a slight decline in meat quality during my most recent visit. It might have just been a one-time issue, but I still highly recommend this place.
Best Hai Nan chicken rice in the area and So Cal in my opinion. That's their specialty and nothing else. You won't find other varieties of dishes like chicken chow Mien, Chinese dishes or anything else.
