I recently visited Coastal Grill with my family during our trip to Virginia Beach and had a disappointing experience. We had made a reservation online and arrived on time, excited for a nice dinner. However, upon arrival, we were informed that there were no available tables inside and that outdoor seating was the only option due to the restaurant's current capacity. Unfortunately, the weather was scorching hot at 90°F, and dining outside wasn't an ideal choice for us. We were surprised and a bit frustrated as our reservation didn't specify whether we'd be seated inside or outside. When we tried to express our concerns about the extreme heat, the staff informed us that there was nothing they could do and, regrettably. This experience left us feeling incredibly disappointed and, frankly, unwelcome. While I understand that restaurants may have limited indoor seating, it would have been helpful to have been informed of this when making the reservation. Clear communication about seating preferences could have prevented this uncomfortable situation. I believe that a more customer-centric approach could have been taken, especially considering the weather conditions that day. It's essential for restaurants to ensure that their guests feel valued and comfortable, regardless of seating constraints. Unfortunately, this was not our experience at Coastal Grill, and I hope they can work on improving their customer service in the future.
