Run of the mill diner, nothing really bad about it but nothing special. The friend I went with got corned beef hash and it was the corned beef hash that comes in a can which I am not a fan of so I’m glad I didn’t order it. Eggs Benedict was mediocre, mound of Homefries under it made the eggs Benedict slide all over the place when I tried to cut it. Great classic diner atmosphere and service was great and very accommodating to my friends substitutions or additions but just wouldn’t really recommend the place based off of what I had and the amount of other diners in the local area to try.
At first entrance, there was no one greeting us and staff would just stare at us. We were first seated at a used table but not for long as another waitress realized our table was not clean. Our waiter was super rude and didn’t properly listen to us. There was no proper greeting, she just got straight to taking our order. Never checked in on us. At one point when we did need something she was sitting down and gossiping with other waitresses. We had to ask another waitress who was tending another table. Then after asking that waitress, ours came right after. Food was to our satisfaction.
Was there on Sunday with our boys baseball team so there was 16 of us 8 adults and 8 boys. The diner looked so cool and being from upstate New York we don’t have a lot of diners we go to but this one amazed the heck out of us. We had a waitress Jackie who took our whole order of 16 people and didn’t write a single thing down not a single word!!!!! She was fantastic so friendly and super great with our boys. She didn’t mess up nobodies order. That girl is something special!!! The food was amazing would definitely return when in the area. Thank you Colonial Diner!!!
The restaurant has a beautiful and authentic atmosphere. However, I would appreciate more gluten-free options on the menu. For instance, offering French toast with home fries that are less oily would be a nice touch, perhaps garnished with some fresh parsley for added flavor.

This is the best diner in North Jersey! I really wish they were open 24 hours. I'm a big fan of their French toast for breakfast and their wraps and burgers for dinner. My waitress, Danielle, always makes sure I’m well taken care of.
Complete strangers paid 70 of my family's breakfast Bill without saying a word. The staff was awesome and the food was great! I highly recommend giving them a try. It was definitely a great experience.
Old school diner with a great ambience. We had a hearty breakfast with eggs, bacon and pancakes that had us fuelled for the day!
Hostess is so friendly. The food is fantastic. You feel like you are welcome and at home every time you walk it.
