I've been dining at Com Tam Dat Thanh for as long as I could remember. Not to date myself but I remember eating here as young as 10 years old so this place has been here for at least 25 years. Post COVID reflection is that if a small business was able to keep afloat during such a challenging time in the decade then it should speak for itself in how the community shows up for it. Most recently, we ordered a few items ToGo. Portion sizes were relatively generous giving how the prices have increased so significantly. We ordered the BBQ Pork Chop Special, BBQ Chicken Special, and the BBQ Beef Special. Flavors were on point as always, and the Shrimp Cake and Egg Cakes always seem to bring in a nostalgic feeling. Hits the spot every time and it never fails.Support local small businesses y'all they can only continue thriving this way.

If you’re into clean, A-rated dining establishments, please avoid this place. My rating only applies to the food! The only thing I’ve ever ordered here are their broken rice plates. Broken rice is just cracked/damaged kernels of rice. Same taste, but different texture. Definitely worth checking out. I don’t remember the exact name of the dish that I ordered (and there are like 60 combinations to choose from), but it came with bbq pork chop, shredded pork skin, egg cake, and fried shrimp cake. Everything in this dish is awesome. There’s never anything left on my plate when I’m done eating here. As to the cleanliness….. don’t expect much. One time I just saw a lady squatting in the corner behind some screen just slicing meat. I guess they ran out of room in the kitchen for her.

This place has been around for a long time, and selling the same exact dishes of Com Tam. It's the reference broken rice with grilled sides in the Bay area. The menu contains all combinations of the sides. Try them all!
