The service was very good. The dining was in the courtyard where, before sunset, tiny bugs were on our plates, in our glasses and up our noses. Very annoying but the bugs subsided as the sun went. The food was highly variable in quality. The amuse bouche was a dried up small piece of deep fried fish. Most unimpressive as were the starters we chose a mussel flavoured hummus which was just strange and unappetising, and a baked manchego dish which turned out to be a salad with a bit of shredded cheese atop a flattened artichoke, some rocket and a bucket load of bland (mass processed) grilled red pepper. El Convento de San Pablo fue construido por iniciativa de Juan del Pozo en 1523. Pertenece a la Orden Dominicana, y está situado en el promontorio que domina la hoz del Huécar río, frente a las casas colgadas al que se llega por el puente de San Pablo . Artísticamente que se caracterizan por la estructura gótica y decoración rinascentista. El monasterio incluye la Iglesia de San Pablo y un claustro del siglo XVI. Después de que los dominicanos se hizo cargo de la Paulini que permaneció aquí hasta 1974. En 1993, la estructura fue convertido en un Parador Nacional de Turismo, es decir, un hotel de 5 estrellas estado de 63 habitaciones.
El Restaurante Convento de San Pablo posee un emplazamiento en la Hoz del Huécar. El lugar acristalado y su antigua capilla,se han convertido en una acogedora cafetería que combina los elementos tradicionales con detalles más modernos como mimbre, cuero y tapizados. ideal to rest and disconnect. we had a small problem with the room and the staff knew how to fix it with speed and exquisite professionalism. the cloister of the parador is an ideal place to enjoy a good reading by sunset and to be carried away by the peace that is breathing there. A very special experience!
The food was good. Local dishes were tasty. The service was a bit too efficient. No sooner had the amuse Bouche arrived but the waitress wanted to take it away as the main course had also arrived. The desserts were disappointing. Dont bother with them.
