Tried this restaurant after I beat my mate at x goal in Malvern with a clutch putt, as it was the only place open in the area for dinner (12am).Dishes were fairly pricy but vibe was great and atmosphere was good. Swanston Street is one of the oddest streets in Melbourne, it never seems to hit any particular note in terms of style of food, shops or otherwise. Then there is Cookie, the place that is always jumping, has brilliant food and drink and you think - walking up Swanston Street was worth it and once you are up those stairs in Curtin House it is an oasis of cool on all sorts of dimensions.The team make you feel right at home and are right on it in terms of looking after you. Wow, so happy we discovered this place. You will need to book for dinner. Very busy and I doubt you would get a seat as a walk-in. We booked for 6.30 but arrived an hour earlier to have a drink at the large and charismatic bar. Oozing atmosphere. Ordered the El Spanko Magico #2. Ridiculously good. A smoky, chilly inspired margarita. Reasonably priced at around $19. Great bar snacks from the bar food menu available. For dinner we ordered the beef ribs (smashing) and the lamb curry with roti bread. Simply delicious. High quality and tasty food. Food was a little disappointing, I have been wanting to go to this restaurant for a while now based on recommendations from friends. I was totally underwhelmed. For a start the waiter we had wasn't very helpful, I asked his suggestion about what he would suggest as a side to go with one of the dishes we ordered and he said that it was fine by itself, it wasn't as when it arrived it was just chicken on a plate and nothing spectacular. I wouldn't recommend this place or I wouldn't return but my main was nice.
A nice place to eat with an extensive menu and interesting décor. The bar is more than fully stocked with a massively extensive cocktail and alcohol menus. The food was very nice but some of the serves were rather small and the price rather larger. The quality however was excellent and the kitchen more than welcoming of requests to 'turn up' or 'turn down' the chilli heat. The venue is upstairs but there is a lift available.
Simply loved it. Was recommended to us by a local Friend. We walked in at 19.30 and were luck to be given a table immediately ( had been warned of a waiting time ). Great selection of beers and amazing food (Ordered the pepper snapper and minced beef with Thai basil which were great - but the salmon and avocado salad was so good). The place had a great lively and happening feel to it. Would love to come back.
This is one of the best places to get amazing food really quickly, with a great wine list and plenty of different beers. I recommend not booking a table and sitting in the area as you turn left when you enter. Get in early so you can get a seat, or settle in for a couple of hours. You order at the bar and the food comes really quickly. The staff recommendations have always been spot on.

Great surprise up the old stairs to walk into this place. Immediately you felt like you were about to experience something special. Banquet food came quickly and in plentiful supply. The staff were very accomidating and helpful. The whole fish was so good i was eating the bones. Only lost a point for too much chicken.
A great variety of modern Asian style share plates with a comprehensive selection of beer and wine. Great service, we just did the banquet and let the chef decide.
