We booked in dinner for 2 at 19:30 and to put it short, this was so disappointing. The wine selection was fine but there was no actual drinks menu, and we didn’t even know what cocktails were available. The food was passable, very small portions though and extremely fatty cuts. The worst part of our experience was the service. The host was friendly but it seemed like he didn’t know what was going on, there were a lot of rude waitresses who were annoyed at our presence, and any simple request seemed like a huge inconvenience to them. The way they spoke to us felt condescending, as if we were kids or mentally disadvantaged people. We were even asked if we wanted two straws for one drink to sha...

I do quite like Coombe Abbey. Particularly I like the wellies just inside the front door as they make me feel like a guest. I was in the Priory block which was freezing cold and there appeared to be no heating in the bathroom. The thing that really annoyed me was having to pay for car parking as an overnight and 2-day conference guest. Now I expect to pay for hotel parking in city centres and at airports, but it is just a con and a nuisance to charge at a hotel where there is more land than you can ride your horse around in a day. I bet it annoys the vast number of afternoon tea guests as well, effectively increasing published prices by quite a percentage. There was also no decent ale, which...
We were given room number 67 for our anniversary, on the 20th of October, it was the most expensive room available, 162£. Once we arrived there, after the check in, we have been told that we’re not going to stay in the abbey, but in the annex by the abbey which is a new building poorly decorated. This ruined our evening and the entire experience and our expectation, in my opinion it is false advertising. Before booking, there is no information or pictures in relation to the annex. You’re finishing by hating your stay there while you look at other people that got a room in the abbey. Definitely not recommend. My wife and I will review this on any platform available. It is ridiculous. Rooms: 1...
we had a 1 night stay here at the weekend, and it was fantastic. beautiful room in a stunning hotel. very friendly helpful staff. beautiful breakfast. we wish we could have stayed for more nights. we will definitely visit for another, recommend it. my only criticism would be that, because everywhere dimly illuminated (what is nice), it was difficult to see in the room to make my sink or shave for my man. a possibility of brighter lighting if they wished it would be good. Stayed for 2 nights here, lovely dark gothic interior and great staff. Service is excellent I must say. However, we were given a 3 tier room which was below average, Even though it had alot of character, the room was not practical and floor and stairs made alot of noise while walking. Hardly any practical space to shower. Wifi is really bad unfortunately. Could also do better with breakfast. Rooms: 2 Service: 5 Location: 5
A wonderful evening. Had a ‘bid’ offer to upgrade our room and got it so had a wonderful one really amazing! Staff were extremely helpful and polite always, service was brilliant. Dinner was beautiful and the breakfast buffet very good. The hotel itself is just pouring with history out of every crevice really grand and spectacular!
