My initial interaction with a staff member named Destiny was not pleasant. When I called to ask about the wait time for a party of 12 on a Sunday (since they don't take reservations), she was rude and dismissive. However, the host Art completely turned my experience around when we arrived. He was helpful and accommodating, and our waitress was fantastic as well.
Although they had run out of a few menu items, the substitutions were still enjoyable. Cornbread Restaurant Bar could benefit from providing better customer service training to their staff to ensure a consistently amazing experience for every guest. ???????? Excellence! That's the best way to describe my experience. The customer service was friendly and attentive, the food portions were perfect and the food was fulfilling and seasoned to perfection. The culture and atmosphere was relaxing and cleanand to top it off, the management and our server Chrissy were delightful to deal with and life giving. Chrissy was veryknowledgeable about the menu and gave suggestions to some of the customizations we were asking about. I from the south andexperiencing a piece of the south during my visit here in Detroit was the best way to end my trip. Kudos to the staff andmanagement! We will be back!
So first of all the ambiance in this restaurant is immaculate! They bring you a basket of cornbread which I think deserves a 5 star all by itself. However, I ordered catfish nuggets gumbo because I had been wanting some forever now a side of Mac cheese sweet potatoes.!!! When I say this food was probably some of the best soul food ever I absolutely mean that! I woulddefinitely visit this food establishment again again. My server was Mariah!! She held eye contact while taking my order wasvery attentive to my table. Wonderful Job guys
To start, I was unaware that the restaurant had relocated from its previous location up the street. Latanya, the guest relations employee, was very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. The host at the door was also kind and friendly. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food continued to have that classic Beans 'n Cornbread vibe in their new location. I encourage you to visit and see for yourself.

Myself, family, and friends were here on Sunday to eat, and the food was delicious. It was very tasty and filling. The customer service was impeccable. They welcomed you with warmth and love. The atmosphere at the restaurant was fantastic and inviting. Our waitress was very friendly and the food was superb. It was served piping hot and fresh. Each person in our group of 7 ordered something different and not a single person had any complaints. We had a wonderful time!
