Cosmos - Réservation de table

Egged on by a friend who swore up and down that this place was the best brunch spot in town, I went to Cosmo's for (what was intended to be) a mid morning brunch. We secured two spots at the counter within the hideously dirty looking restaurant, only to be told that it was cash only and no ATM on site. Fine, no big deal, there's a bank nearby where we can take out cash. When we returned 4 minutes later, we were dismayed to find our seats taken and no seating available outside (we missed a table by 15 seconds). There are plenty of fancy places to eat in Montreal, and this ain't one but it has soul in spades. And grease. Lots of grease.<br/ <br/ A true hole in the wall, Cosmos is the kind of place you go to catch up on neighbourhood gossip and to kibbitz with the people sitting next to you at the 12 seat counter. <br/ <br/ When you go, don't bother with the menu. Just ask the proprietor to tell you what's good and order that. Trust me. You can't go wrong.

Cosmos gets a 4.5 out of 5 from me because it's so damn consistent, so damn well priced, and so damn nostalgic. You go in there huddle up on one of only a handful of bar stools and get a great breakfast. Two eggs, some of the best hash browns in town, some bacon, toast, and coffee for 7 dollars. Can't really beat that.

It's not just about the breakfast. A very colorful clientele. The cook the waitress are loaded with character, what great personalities. If you enjoy real people you will love this place.And, as a bonus, extremely greasy flavorful breakfast. A fantastic experience. Réservez une table maintenant

My truest love. Good god I love Cosmos. 20 years of eating there and I am somehow neither obese n'or suffering from any kind of heart disease. I absolutely love this place. The staff, the food, the prices all are exceptional. To me it's home. That's all I can say.

Nostalgia and a classic Dive. Everything here is delicious...dont count calories and dont be a whooty tootty<br/ its simple comfort food and great discussions with strangers, <br/ <br/ mashed potatoes are a classic <br/ as is the mish mash for 2

NDG staple! It's the greasiest most grimy place and is not suited for snobs or health conscience people but if you want an overloaded, cheap, delicious breakfast/hangover cure, this is the absolute best place to go. Réservez une table maintenant

Amazing food. Great service. Unique atmosphere. Best coffee shop in town. All the creations are fresh and tasteful. Must-have are the fried potatoes.

Great old school breakfast/lunch nook. Friendly staff and customers, and great food. The breakfast burger is great, portions are big.
