It is disappointing that we have had enjoyable meals at this restaurant in the past. However, our last three attempts to dine here have been unsuccessful. The excuses given always revolve around being short-staffed. During our most recent visit, we inquired if food was being served and were informed that it was. We ordered drinks at the bar and waited for a waitress to come to our table. After 15 minutes of waiting, we approached the bar again and were told to sit down and wait for the waitress. I took it upon myself to grab two menus and sat down to make a selection. Another 10 minutes passed before the waitress finally arrived and informed us that due to having only one chef on duty, there...

I recently visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch on Mother’s Day after picking up my daughter from camp. Despite the busy crowd, the team was very accommodating and found us a comfortable spot. The attentive staff took great care of us and served our food quickly. The food was absolutely delicious, with the Sunday roast being the best I've had in a while. I chose the beef which was incredibly tender, while my husband enjoyed the chicken pie that was full of filling and came with fresh vegetables and homemade chips. The venue itself is spacious and perfect for my 4-year-old to run around after eating. There was a wide variety of drinks available at reasonable prices. I'm already looking fo...

We have visited The Cotton Arms twice in the past two weeks while cruising the Cheshire ring on our canal boat. This pub is a hidden gem, offering a warm and family-friendly atmosphere and delicious home-cooked meals that are hearty and satisfying. Be sure to leave room for dessert, as the crumble, crème brulé, and bread and butter pudding are all exceptional. Thank you for the hospitality - we will definitely return if we are in the area again.

We travelled from Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Edinburgh on the snowiest day of the year to join our parents for a festive lunch today. It was absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious with generous portions and lovely hot plates on such a cold day. The staff were really welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We'll definitely visit again! Perfect roast dinners! Réservez une table maintenant

Think Fawlty Towers you could not make our experience up. We had to wait hours for our food as the chef had not arrived., They had to take our order three times as they did not have pub basics like fish and chips (on a Friday) or gammon and egg. We were taking friends out for a meal and it was embarrassing.

Service friendly, good menu. Sharing bites as starters were very good and value for money. Main courses ok but nothing special. Building and facilities a bit tired. Perhaps we hit it on a bad night but it didnt live up to the high expectations created by other reviews and the Travellers Choice Award.

Warm and cosy environment, dog friendly. Variety of meals tried from Chicken Fajitas, Classic Burger and a Vegetable Gateaux all served with homemade chips, fries or fresh vegetable's; very pleased with the quantity and quality. Log burner makes a great addition to the atmosphere. Friendly staff.

While on holiday last week on the Llangollen Canal we visited the Cotton Arms. We had a really lovely time. The atmosphere was great, the staff helpful and attentive and the food was really good. This was one of the best sunday lunchs we have had and look forward to another visit. Réservez une table maintenant

Overpriced pub with a health hazard of a campsite. No running water, disgusting facilities with broken toilet seats ! Should have the campsite shut down! Deleted my last review probably for fear of having the place shut down!
