We stopped for a late lunch during our travels and enjoyed some great dishes. The highlights were the fried tomatoes and their signature muffin, which resembles a spice cake packed with raisins and nuts. However, I had to deduct a star because we ordered our breakfast potatoes well done, but they arrived barely cooked and definitely not crispy. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to request a fix, so we just made do. On a positive note, the prices were reasonable, and the staff was very friendly. They promptly cleared the tables around us as customers left. If we ever pass by again, we’ll definitely stop in for more fried tomatoes and those delicious muffins!
My coffee pot surprisingly dispensed a fly, which I assumed was just an isolated incident. However, when I received my soup, I noticed something unusual on the underside of the saucer. I couldn't identify what it was. The chocolate silk looked appealing, but unfortunately, it tasted stale. When I attempted to cut into the pie filling, it broke apart in chunks instead of smoothly. On a positive note, the other members of my group enjoyed their meals and had a good experience. However, I don't foresee returning to this restaurant anytime soon.
The grilled cheese with bacon, tomato and provolone on rye (one of the day's specials) and the vegetable soup were yummy. For the homemade dessert that comes with the special I chose the chocolate silk pie on Graham cracker crust. I opted out if the whipped cream topping though. I like my chocolate unadulterated!! Despite the sign asking patrons to be patient with service because of a staffing shortage, our service did not seem delayed.
This restaurant is truly a gem! You can dine while taking in a beautiful view of the lake. The food was outstanding, and the service deserved a five-star rating. The atmosphere also evokes a sense of nostalgia. If you appreciate quality food, excellent service from courteous staff, and a touch of old-school professionalism, then you must visit The Countrie Eatery! This is a fantastic spot to enjoy a lovely home-style meal. The atmosphere is inviting, with a lovely dining area and a beautiful outdoor setting. The back of the restaurant overlooks Silver Lake, and there's a cozy deck where you can take in the scenery. The food was delicious, served in generous portions. The prices are reasonable and on par with similar in-house restaurants. Highly recommended!
Clean and inviting restaurant. The food was delicious, and it has a lovely homey atmosphere. There’s a cool display of toys at the entrance. The view of the water is beautiful, and there's a small deck where you can sit and enjoy the outdoors. The portions are generous as well. I had a really good hot chocolate too.
First visit. Short distance from route 13. I had a bowl of chili that I thought was very tasty. I also had the chicken salad sandwich I also enjoyed. I liked it wasn't dressed with Mayo. I'm sorry, not a picture of the sandwich. Would recommend both. Almost forgot the coffee was hot and hit the place. Have fun.
