I was so excited to go in because it was Sunday and I could get the Sunday pot roast. We typically order from here on a Friday when we decide to have it. The pot roast was delicious and I got a smothered sweet potato which was okay. It was hard to get through all the marshmallow. My sister had the roast beef and we had had the hash brown casserole tot things too. All the food was good. What wasn't good was the service from our waitress. She only ever said anything when she was taking our order and asking if we wanted refills. She stopped by at one point to say something but never did. She left the check without saying anything or asking if we wanted boxes. She literally dropped it on the table as she was walking by. I waited at the table for a box for a good 15 minutes because she never came over. I finally was able to stop her after she chit chatted with one of her other tables and when I asked for a box she made it like it was some mysterious thing that I wanted one. At this point my sister had already paid, went to the bathroom, and got back. To top it all off, when she was taking our drink orders, I asked for the huckleberry tea. She said they were out of. Ok, no biggie. Except when she was chitchatting with her other table, SHE GOT THEM A REFILL OF HUCKLEBERRY TEA! I honestly think our lack of service was because me and my sister are younger and she thought we wouldn't tip. Jokes on her because I used to be a waitress and now tip them very well (based on performance) because I know what they go through.

It feels like an authentic American experience. As a Dutch guy I’m not used to (the size of) breakfasts like they serve at this restaurant. Let’s say you will not need any snacks until lunchtime. The waiter was really nice and helpful. We had breakfast at this place a few times during our stays. In my opinion the best thing I had was the Bacon n’ Egg Hashbrown Casserole.

Great place for food and history. The antic, rustic feel really adds to the atmosphere. Our server Daniqua forgive my spelling slim lady that had the tables to the corner did a fabulous job in taking care of us.
