starting with what I loved- the cocktails were incredible… get the melona milk punch. it’s one of my favorite cocktails now in the city! I also loved their bread service- we went during white truffle season, so we got an amazing gnocchi with a generous serving of white truffle. we also got a 30 dry aged ribeye on the specials menu that came with salad and potatoes- it was excellent (for some reason though, they wouldn’t let us have it cooked medium rare, only medium). the toffee sticky pudding was also very good, but I didn’t love the sorbet that came with it. the ambiance and vibe of crown shy is very fun… not stuffy at all and the music was so good. I would come back for a drink and snack...
Crown Shy is a surprisingly beautiful and welcoming restaurant. The bar and table service are top-notch, making for an excellent dining experience. Don't be deceived by the seemingly simple menu; it's easy to order, and you’ll want to try everything! The sweet dishes we ordered (the Calibre and the carrots) were beautifully presented, though a bit understated for appetizers. However, the Gruyère fritters and white bean hummus were both outstanding. For our main course, we had the grilled citrus chicken with hot sauce, which was exceptional and flavorful—not to mention large enough to easily serve two people! Crown Shy is a fantastic spot for a special night out. The service is wonderful, they make you feel right at home and are happy to give suggestions. The octopus with celery root and green peppercorn was our favorite dish as it was packed with well-balanced flavors Both pastas were tasty (Fregola Mafaldine) and uniquely serviced with unexpected accompaniments. However, the mafaldine came to the table a bit cold which was the only disappointment. Crown Shy provides a ritzy New York night out with the strong vibe, delicious food cocktails and exceptional service. *If you book on Resy and put the $50 deposit down, make sure it’s removed from the bill!
I had lunch today and opted for the three-course prix fixe menu. I ordered the grilled citrus marinated chicken with hot sauce. The flavor was good, but the presentation of the dish was quite unappetizing. There was a piece of chicken that looked unappealing on the plate, so I ended up hiding it under the salad.

Place is gold, great cocktail program. Amazing staff and the food is amazing.
