the eating here is exceptional and the chef has always gone the extra mile to make sure our eating is enjoyed and needs time to have a chat. the place where it is located has an old world charm, but also modern, it has an open fire that is very welcoming on a winter day. the renter is very friendly and always gives a warm welcome. I will certainly return.

a warm welcome they could not ask. I came out of the rain after a long walk with an hour to go still before I reached my accommodation, I was picked up a table and served excellent steak and chips and a few good ale.

Great food and drink, cosy and unpretentious, though seating layout could use some work for more to benefit from the gorgeous wood burning stove. Possibly the best on site pub I've ever seen.

a real pub. old and wonderful. the beer was good as the price. it is on my list for walks and beer.
