I was looking for good Cuban food outside of Miami, and have yet to find it.When we arrived at the restaurant, it was almost empty and my husband and I were seated at a tiny 2 person table squished up against the window. I would understand if the restaurant was busy, but I couldn’t see the reason why when there were at most 4 other patrons at the restaurant at the time. The restaurant is also run down and did not feel clean.I spoke to the waiter in Spanish, and he was very obviously surprised. I visited this restaurant about 12 years ago and returned solely for the palomilla steak, which I had loved. To my disappointment, it's no longer on the menu, despite recent reviews still raving about it. I opted for the vaca frita instead, but it was just average, the portions were quite small, and the prices didn't match the quality of the food. What struck me the most was how empty the place was for a Saturday late lunch—almost reminiscent of a COVID lockdown. As much as you'd like to enjoy this restaurant, it's really the memories of better times that you'll have to cherish.
My family and I have been regulars at Cubano's for years, and the food is consistently outstanding. The staff always greets you with a smile, making you feel at home, and you can tell they genuinely enjoy having you there. My husband and I are particularly fond of their green sauce, and they always provide extra without us even asking. The restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated, giving you the feeling of dining in a nice restaurant in Cuba. Be sure to have Shazam ready, as the music is fantastic. I don't know how I missed this place, but I'm glad I finally stopped by! While I was in the area, I decided to pick up some food and went for the Churrasco a la Brasa, which is flank steak served with rice, black beans, and plantains. While I was waiting for my order, Alex offered me a drink, and I gave the mojito a try. Oh my goodness, it was absolutely fantastic! I have to admit, I felt a little tipsy afterward, but it was worth it. The mojito even came with a piece of raw sugarcane, which was a nice touch. Overall, my meal was incredibly delicious!
I absolutely adore the shrimp with garlic and rice—it's exceptional! The staff is fantastic, and both the atmosphere and location are pleasant. I rarely have to wait for a seat. While the other dishes are decent, that's the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. It's a great go-to spot, and I've been returning regularly since they opened. It's suitable for larger groups, but I'm not sure if there's a private room available.
Delicious! It's my first Cuban food that I've ever had...and it is amazing! The plantain is so unique and tasty...the Pastelon de Carne Eloisa (plantain ontop of ground beef) and File de Pollo a la Parrilla (grilled chicken) areso good! Last but not least the Mojito grande...is The MUST HAVE...????????????????????????
It claims to be authentic Cuban food and as a Cuban American I can verify it is NOT authentic Cuban food at all but rather what someone from another country in Latin America considers Cuban and knows the name will sell only the sodas are Cuban nothing else if you want authentic Cuban food this is not it

It was a quiet weekend brunch, the cuban sandwich was perfect. The lechon asado was tasty... The portion and the price is about average 20 disk and make sure you have room for the flan at the end : The interior decor is very colorful, too.
I love this place! I've been visiting this restaurant for years in Silver Spring. It's a must-visit when meeting friends and enjoying an authentic Cuban meal.
