Korean comfort food, too.. I tried some of the Korean dishes here the other day I think the restaurant transferred ownership to some Korean people a while ago). They have 돈까스 deep fried pork cutlet), 양념 치킨 fried chicken with spicy sauce), 짬뽕 spicy seafood noodle soup), 탕수육 sweet and sour pork), 짜장면 stir fried noodles with Chinese bean sauce) and ramyeon. They 're dishes that aren 't necessarily Korean per se, but have been adapted to the Korean palate. <br/ <br/ It was by no means gourmet. For example, the cutlet was served with some shrivelled up, previously frozen vegetables, and shredded lettuce with squirts of mayo and ketchup on it. So if you 're not accustomed to hanging out in hole-in-the-wall Korean fast food dives in Seoul, you might be disappointed. <br/ <br/ However, if you 're someone who knows what it means to have a sudden craving for 辛 ramyeon in the middle of the night, and the exact same ramyeon that you have in your cupboard at home just won 't cut it….then you 'll like it here. They 've also kept the 'Canadian menu '. So if hamburgers are more suitable to satiate your cravings, they 've got that too.
Stopped in for the Pancake breakfast special ( $4.99 for 3 pancakes, 2 eggs, bacon, hashbrowns from Mon/Fri) It was something else to have the kitchen staff, 5 of them at the time, greet me as I entered the restaurant. There was an authentic sound of "happy to see you" in their "good morning". I really felt a warm glow of welcome, and hospitality. They do this for each customer that came in, too. They would stop for a second, and call out a friendly welcome. Gosh.. that impressed me.. and started my experience with a smile. There are little boxes filled with Trivia questions that my husband and I had fun answering as we waited for our food. The service was wonderful. I was charmed by our server. She was meticulous in the details making sure that we received exactly what we wanted. The food was well prepared, and delicious. I have to say that I felt at home here, and I would be happy to go back, and bring friends.
Went here with kids and adults. Decor is simple and a bit old, but the food is excellent and not overpriced. Staff is very welcoming. Good variety of north american food and korean food. For example, our table ordered in same meal: bacon and eggs, korean pork dumplings, hamburger and fries, and korean spicy noodle seafood soup. Something for everyone!
Been in a few times, primarily at lunchtime. Menu is varied with North American styled choices as well as Oriental ones. Not sure if the staff are Chinese or Korean. Appearance gives you a burger joint look, but it is far from that. Wouldn't hesitate going back and will be trying other times of the day and menu selections.
