The roll I received was made from the cheapest bread. Why not serve a good baguette as promised? The bread was cut at a strange angle—one side was large while the other was flat. Just cut it in half! The cold cuts were low quality too. For a $12 sandwich, I expect better quality bread and ingredients. If it were a $6 sandwich, I could understand, but this is just absurd and disappointing. I've dined at this restaurant before and appreciated the food, but my recent experience was disappointing. I discovered three gift certificates from 2018 that I received as Christmas gifts and decided to use them for lunch. However, Max informed me that they no longer accept gift certificates purchased before 2020, as per the owner, Ken Chi. I mentioned that this practice seemed illegal and that I intended to follow up on the issue. Since I left without any food, I can't comment on the quality of the meals.
I absolutely love this place! Whenever I visit town, I always stop by for a sandwich. My top choice is the Yves St. Croissant along with the Chicken Door, and I like to add some sprouts. The croissants are always fresh and soft, and the rye bread is fantastic. The corn chowder is delicious as well!
Have been in twice in the last week for a quick bite, at best, it was GROSS!! Not to mention the service was, at best, LAME!!! Horrible food, close it down!!!
