What an experience with Deb's Fish Bar!! I have had previous orders from here that have gone wrong but haven’t written anything on Social media about them before as in truth even though there has been some decidedly bad meals , A horrendous excuse for a waffle which look like a pancake run over by a car tyre!! Wrong orders four times!! Completely inedible chips which have basically been so covered in Grease and soggy it was impossible to eat them…So okay we didn’t order chips from there anymore!! What a mistake being drawn by the local adverts ! Went for fish and chips after spending a few days at the seaside quick tea. Walked in to order there were at least 8 staff on the premises who were too busy talking about sun beds and gossiping about causing trouble on Facebook. Was told that the 1 young lady on the phone would take my order in a minute. I waited at least 5 minutes for this call to end. Could not one of the other staff take my order ? One had the dirtiest top on bearing the Debs Fish bar logo it looked like she had been wearing it all week. Our previous order was incorrect, this time we ordered 4 fish and 2 chips for 5.00pm which arrived at 5.25pm after 2 phone calls for them to say its on its way we must have been the last of 6 or more deliveries as the chips were stone cold, and greasy as the fish is placed on top of the chips, the fish was slightly warm with the batter dripping in grease, it must have come out of the fryer and straight into the box. With so much grease, visually appalling, disgusting taste and texture its simply inedible garbage. I should have read the review by tracethereader I could not agree more. Avoid and eat somewhere else
This is my go to fish&Chip shop , the food is normally of great quality and large portions, last nights order was 4 large cod and 2 large chips with 3 pots of curry sauce, like I said its normally wonderfully cook fish and great chips...not sure if the oils was to hot but the fish inside the batter was nice but the batter was very hard to the point I had to really break it open with a knife and was unpleasant and tuff to chew and the chips looked over cooked on the outside and the inside hard at the centre.

One star is generous Staff member extremely rude, waited 30 minutes just for a piece of fish. Georgia the server told me that’s how my Mum wants it so don’t bother coming again. Food quality was very poor, staff in filthy uniforms. Vile Place was a complete shambles, shame as previous interaction with owner was excellent.
Rang Debs fish bar and a very friendly lady took my order Had medium cod and chips delivered at eight o clock on a Saturday evening The delivery was on time and the two portions of fish and chips were absolutely delicious .Well packaged and hot Will certainly use Debs Fish Bar again Thankyou to all concerned
Debs fish bar always has the freshest thickest fillets of fish with a crispy batter and very big portions.. the curry sauce and mushy peas are also really good. The chips are such a huge portion that we now have a cone of chips between the two of us. We always really enjoy the meals from here.
Had a GF fish and chips the fish was over done and dried the fish out don't get me wrong a like a crispy batter but just a bit to much but apart from that the rest of the stuff was lovely, not greasy, I will give it another try tho, everybody needs a second chance

First visit and very impressed. Staff friendly and helpful. Chips lovely not greasy. Although didn’t try a sweet treat this time will definitely try one soon.
Absolutely love this place. Good prices. Great food and when ordering online, always arrive in 20 mins max!
