Our family went to a festival in Huntington one Saturday morning in September. We stumbled upon the Dix Hills Diner and it was one of the best decisions we made. we were greeted immediately and served instantly given we have a baby and on borrowed time. The server was beyond accommodating and patient with all my questions i have (which i have many of). He was attentive and would continue to ask after having our food, if we needed anything. My husband had the French toast which he could not stop talking about since. They were delicious and the diner also gave him real maple syrup not the artificial packets most diners serve. Been going here for years and this will definitely be the last time. The managers are extremely rude with absolutely no concern for their customers. Ordered 3 burgers cooked medium for pick up, when I got home all of the burgers were completely raw (it happens). The real problem is when I called them to tell them my burgers were raw and i 'd like to come back and get new ones, the manager said that I must have ordered them wrong and it was my fault. He said that 's not how we do things here . I eventually talked them into making new burgers for us and when I went to pick it up, the guy at the front desk ACTUALLY TRIED TO MAKE US PAY FOR THEM. The ambiance of the place is totally screaming diner, so that was always a good thing because you want to have the feel. The service was amazing !! Totally welcoming and friendly. Tatiana was such a great waitress. I love it when the waiters are happy and nice to the customers. 5/5 on the service. Now that we come to the food just unbelievable amazing. The boneless wings were Top tier!! Just perfectly fried slightly !! Amazing ! The rest of the people with me agreed all the rest of the food they ordered was amazing. The pastrami was so delicious. The perogis also were so good and tasty. I rate this place 4.5/5 !!!
I like this diner been there several times recently. They have good. Choices, everything I tried or my friends tried were very good and served well . I noticed their ladies room was very clean and they have someone cleaning it and checking it out every hour!!! VThere was a checklist on the wall that had to be initialed. I witnessed that event. What a good idea. I look forward to going back and trying something else. We went on a Saturday night and waited 20 minutes to get seated ,the waiter was down right awful. We ordered two simple meals, one came with soup, never got it, and then asked oh we'll give it to you to go? We waited too long for the food .. Waiter with chip on his shoulder, if you don't like the job leave. Then, around tip time, is there anything else I can get you? Yes, out of this place! FOOD WAS OK, not worth the wait
Been a long time. But we have been back a few times. After a couple of menu changes it seems you now have it much more suitable. The food is back to being very good with fair prices. Scaled down menu and good amount of food, now, for the . Best thing of all you did away with the CC fees. Nice job and I guess the people have been heard. Thank you and we will continue to come in!
