Doddington Cafe And

We were here last week and tried to eat outside in the sun however were as others have said) plauged by wasps. We maybe ought to have noticed the large number of wasp catching devices hanging from wooden posts and on the backs of chairs but failed to do so ,at first not much of an issue but as the food arrived we were swarmed. Wasps were everywhere. Staff did acknowledge our plight and moved us inside but clearly as inside was fairly full could not do so for everyone. Ok this might be only a problem at certain times of the year however last week it was huge. Clearly they are awere of the issue hence the traps however they need to investigate some better way of manageing their wasp problem.Food was Ok however prices (for lincolnshire) were a tad expensive, cofffe over sanwihces over and fish and chips over

Really disappointing food the last few times I've visited I'm afraid to sat. Had the beef bagel on my last visit and it just wasn't good!! Bagel (which was plan and not poppy seed as advertised) wasn't toasted. The beef was OK but the amount of burger sauce they put on it made the whole thing inedible! It was absolutely swimming in burger sauce and didn't taste at all nice. Have been many times and it's gotten quite hit and miss of late.

The Afternoon Tea was a gift from our daughter and it didn't disappoint. The staff were very friendly, helpful and smartly dressed. The sandwiches were very tasty and the scones absolutely delicious. Plenty of cakes to finish and endless pots of tea. Although it was a gift, at £25 a head I thought it was good value. More than happy to recommend.

We ordered cake and coffee. I took my cake to the table which I will say wasn't clean so my partner requested someone clean it. I ate my cake while we waited and waited for the coffee to arrive. I appreciate they might have been busy but when 5 staff are just standing at the counter chatting away ignoring dirty tables and customers

We had a lovely welcome and chose to sit outside as it was warm albeit wet. We had coffee and great cake. It was too early for lunch but I would have liked to try other things on the menu
