We discovered Drakes whilst walking round the Christmas market. The is a dining area at the back and we quickly got a table . We both had the Seniors (over 65s) deal Haddock and chips with a pot of Yorkshire Tea. We were quickly served and the food hot and fresh . We were glad we didnt opt for Jumbo size as it was massive ! Very nice and good value
Always very good nice location and welcoming friendly staff. I always rate the place highly and have been many times. Recently the quality has dropped greasy soggy pale chips not edible. Hopefully it will improve. Fish overcooked many new staff not great really in general.
Walking passed tge fish and chip shop. At last minute spotted the restaurant sign and so glad we did. Best fish and chips for a long time. Freshly cooked, light batter, nice fish, ushy peas Yorkshire tea whats not to like. Highly recommended
Went to Drakes today with my friend. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the overall experience was great. We got served and talked to a waitress called Millie who made the experience. A very lovely young lady. We will be back. THANKYOU DRAKES! Réservez une table maintenant
One of the best fish and chip meals l have ever eaten. Piping hot, freshly cooked, the chips were crispy and the fish delicious. All were served in the restaurant at the back of the cafe. Well worth a visit if you want a quick tasty meal.
This place never fails, friendly staff, always make you feel welcome, and the food is amazing, it’s the best quality fish and chips we heave ever had, every time we come to York we have to visit, couldn’t recommend this enough
The nicest fish and chips I have had in quite some time. Fresh lovely white fish in thin crispy batter, delicious chips and very good mushy peas and curry sauce. The staff were lovely too.
