We ate here on our third night in Andermatt. The menu is extensive. Quality of food was excellent. I had the calves liver with rosti. The liver was tender, well seasoned and absolutely delicious. It came in two healthy servings. The rosti was nicely crisp on the outside. My husband had the steak and chips which he absolutely enjoyed. The half bottle of Merlot was lovely and smooth. Dessert was the lightest profiteroles I’ve ever tasted. However I wish it was served with dark chocolate sauce! The server was gracious and attentive. We enjoyed it so much we booked it again for tomorrow night!
We walked right from the train into the village, and stopped for dinner here. They have a large, protected terrace which felt just fine on a slightly chilly summer evening. We encountered very friendly and quick service, and were very happy with our food a fresh local fish and a Wiener Schnitzel, which both were of excellent quality. The Schnitzel was huge, and came in two servings.
This is my favorite hotel so far on our road trip ! First of all the staff so friendly, kind, helpful, professional and willing to share advice on things to see and do in the surroundings. The room and hotel in a beautiful old fashioned style. Breakfast great, and also the coffee. Restaurant at night with tasty meals. Free safe parking. If you ever plan to go to Andermatt stay here.
Food tipped onto the back of one of our guests, guests not getting their meals, ridiculous excuses from the staff (like we don’t have Rosti left and anyway it’s not very good here), no pasta left, average veal sausage, shocking polenta etc etc the only thing that was any good was the bottle of wine
