Nomen est omen: Restaurant du Theatre is located...at the theatre, just a few steps from Monthey-Ville railway stop. My lunch was truly close to perfection driven both by excellent food and great staff. Thumbs-up for the unobstrusive and professional service. Even chef Mauro helped...with the service, explaining the ingredients of each dish a much appreciated gesture. The a-la-carte choices proved excellent but are admittedly not for the budget-conscious. As starter I had plins (kind of small ravioli) stuffed with boar meat and garnished with local Chablais truffles quite delicate and tasty. As main course the veal fillet was tender and cooked to perfection; it was served with chanterelles and diverse vegetables. Unreasonably I also indulged in a dessert: the chocolate moist cake was tasty and well-worth the preparation time. Amounting to the bill was definitely on the expensive side as often in Switzerland. However the high quality food and service are well worth it.

Having no time to cook at home we choose this place to check if its still as good. Yes, it is. Very tasty food and nice presentation of the plates. Mr Cappelli is constantly a good CHEF and its a place to recommend . Unfortunately...they did not ask us the cooking degree for our steaks , for us Swiss it was a bit too rouge But a real good piece and the veggies done like we like them. The café gourmand was a real pleasure.

A feast for you eyes , a feast for your palette yummy in your tummy! This is someone working with a passion , it's written all over the dishes we were served from amuse buche to coffee you know an artist with a...passion is working and conducting in the kitchen. It was all done perfectly and beautifully. It didn't disappoint . Both food and service were perfect.

This restaurant is one of our favorites. We drive down from our vacation appartment in Morgins (ca min) at least once a year to eat here. Very well prepared food, good, original and surprising! Friendly staff makes it even more pleasant. The setting might...be a bit modern for some people. Ask for a table near the window.

I've been to this restaurant a few times. Great food! Great wine list! Great staff! only negative points. No music the fact that they are missing the basic bar knowledge. Other than that, it's really worth a visit.
