I have been following Dulce Artisanal Pastry for years now on social media but had yet to venture inside. Either I didn't have time before, wasn't in the area, or was telling myself I didn't need to eat pastries there was always an excuse I made. Finally, it was the perfect time, a beautiful day, and we were right around the corner. I have had my eyes on their artisanal pop tarts for years, so that was what I was most interested in seeking. We first browsed the window and I saw the pop tarts , along with chocolate croissants. We entered the bakery and were greeted by an employee at the register. I asked about the pop tart flavor and tried to get my bearings, as everything is unique. You know...
My husband and I stopped in one day a few years ago while strolling in town. It was our first visit but not our last. On subsequent visits to town, we tried to resist going in but who could resist the absolute best cookies they ever had? The peanut butter and the chocolate chip are amazing. We have also tried their croissants, breads and pastries and they did not disappoint. This little place is one of our absolute best finds.
Their croissant is nothing special i think they either added some egg wash on top or burnt it slightly. Either way, it’s not pull apart soft yet still flakey. The pecan maple croissant was very good. The gruyere and onion danish was very nice. The baguette is holey as it should be, but a bit too dense and the bottom was jaw ache chewy.
I’ve been to Dulce on 2 occasions, on trips over the bridge from Philly. I’ve found their staff approachable, even welcoming, and their assortment somewhat plentiful for the time of day (after 12:00) both times. I’d recommend. They’re fairly conveniently located as well. And with abundant parking in the rear, what’s not to like?
