I recently visited a charming gastropub and had the burger, which I found to be not as tasty as it had been on a previous visit. It seems like the menu or meat supplier may have changed, but it was still decently edible. Despite this disappointment, the atmosphere and service from the waiter were excellent. My niece ordered the sausages and mash and thoroughly enjoyed it - it was filling, hot, and delicious. I think I will try that dish next time I come. Unfortunately, the mackerel pate I was looking forward to was not available on the starter menu, but a packet of cheese and onion crisps paired perfectly with a white wine lemonade spritzer. i had a lovely evening here the other night. With the weather turning and it becoming colder we sat inside and managed to get a seat next to the fire. It felt so cosy and autumnal. It was a Monday so it was quiet but lucky for us Anna and Dave looked after us and made us feel extremely welcome…. I could consider this my lounge if I could. Food was lovely and came promptly and hot. I lookforward to many a winter night here in front of the fire.
Visit this pub often albeit without great expection regarding the food. It 's convenient and reasonably hospitable. May have a change of heart after today 's experience; the curry ox cheek pie was more like a dried out donut. Mentioned it to staff who appeared uninterested. Fortunately there are other pubs nearby. May explain why the pub was empty.
Had a great Sunday roast last weekend, sat up in the bar area and got great service even when they were very busy. Food and drinks were amazing and the roasts are the best around Look forward to visiting again with friends

Jessi was fantastic, calm, cool and very friendly. 10 out of 10, nothing was too much to ask for, very pleasant did not Russia’s even though the restaurant was quiet due to the weather felt very welcome
Good gastropub food with a nice study feel off the bar. Good service tasty food and well kept Youngs beer including one brewed especially for the Rugby World Cup. Good range of red wine by the glass.
Great service, great food. It was nice and quiet when we went, and I think this was down to the really bad weather at the time. But it was a nice surprise and meant the food came really quick.
Did mixology class as a quiz win, then did the weekly quiz. Had great fun really good service! Server was Dave who taught us how to make cocktails.

Enjoyed my afternoon here, friendly staff especially Eloise a lovely bar staff. Food was wonderful and the garden is very pleasant
