Dutch Bros appears to primarily appeal to teens and young adults. I really enjoy the atmosphere, and everyone I've encountered there has been genuinely friendly. However, I'm not a fan of their enormous cups filled with overly sweet, syrupy drinks. The coffee itself isn't great either, so calling it a coffee shop doesn't quite fit. It would be more accurate to name it "Dutch Bros Big Gigantic Sugary Syrupy Beverages." It seems like most people go there for an Instagram or TikTok moment rather than for the coffee. That's perfectly fine, but I'll stick with local coffee roasters.
Good coffee, good prices. A large iced drink is in a 32 oz. cup, so you're not getting ripped off in terms of ice to liquid ratio. Also, large drinks here start at $4. I was able to get two large, iced mochas, one with caramel, and leave a $2 tip for under $13 today. The last time I ordered the same drinks at *bucks, it cost more than that before tipping.
They offer more sugar-free options than anywhere else! I've been on keto for a few months, and Dutch Bros has really helped me feel somewhat normal because I can just drive up and find options for myself! Additionally, the staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Plus, the app is fantastic.
