Eastern Lamejun Bakers

If you 're near Belmont, I recommend swinging by this little Armenian market to check out the treasures inside. I was looking up parking for Praline just a few streets down and saw ELB on the map and was immediately intrigued, having never heard of a lamejun before. I wish I had some more time to peruse the aisles but we walked away with some goodies: a bag of dried green lentils, some grape leaves, a meat lamejun, and two boxes of baklava. The baklava were a hit at the party we brought them to, though, of the two kinds we purchased, I preferred the smaller, rolled up, bite sized version (I looked it up the finger baklava. Very apt! . This is my favorite restaurant! Even though I no longer live nearby, visiting is always a special treat. As soon as you step through the door, the amazing aromas captivate your senses! What to try first? I suppose I have to go for the apricot paste—I'll take two. And the halva, oh my goodness! Fresh pita bread? Absolutely! I could keep going... I can't leave without at least five boxes of Lamejun! Nobody makes Lamejun like they do at Eastern Lamejun! You have to visit; you won't regret it!

Every item is very fresh and tasty. But what I love most about this store is that Everyone being so kind and welcoming. Store made items are very authentic and delicious.

Great selection of Armenian and Middle Eastern foods. Lots of olives, sweets, breads, and the usual staples like hummus. Always a treat to stop there. Réservez une table maintenant

The Lamejun (not sure which spelling to use, there are so many) is fantastic. The bouregs are amazing Great selection and a long-time staple.

Darn good Zaatar bread, only wish it was consistently moist / fluffy. But in any case usually stop getting some when I happen to pass.
