Nestled in Chicago's historic Oak Park, this basement bistro is a hidden treasure that consistently delivers satisfaction and often offers delightful surprises. You really need to check it out! However, we have some unfortunate news: the charming Eastgate and its renowned jazz sessions have now closed. The owners are relocating out of state, leaving the future of the venue uncertain.
Easy to find, right in the heart of the Art district. I parked my car right opposite the cafe, I guess that was possible only because I came here on my lunch break and traffic was light. I ordered a marinated chicken breast sandwich and sweet iced tea. The ice tea was a rich in raspberry flavor, reminiscent of what I have had in London Soho district and the sandwich, healthy, devoid of cheese and fattening cream. I dare say it was tasteful, sweet... just like the pleasant Serbian lady Violeta who attended to me. I liked it.
This charming and cozy restaurant offers delicious food and excellent service. I really enjoy the atmosphere and the timeless vibe of the place. They also have a nice selection of books to read. The outdoor patio is lovely, and they feature live jazz music on weekend evenings.
The food and the staff at this restaurant are fantastic. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed, seated, and treated to some of the best pasta I've ever tasted. I absolutely love this place and will definitely be returning for more!

Great atmosphere with live music and friendly staff. The outdoor seating was pleasant, providing a place you can just sit and relax with a drink for a while. The macaroons were not as fluffy as desired, but overall we enjoyed our time here!
My partner and I were eager to explore more local dining options and stumbled upon this nearby restaurant. The atmosphere was amazing when I arrived to pick up our order. The food was exceptional and incredibly fresh.
Food and people who run the place are amazing. The second I walked in I was greeted, seated and offered some of the best pasta I’ve ever had. Love this place and definitely coming back for seconds
This is a wonderful restaurant with excellent food and very friendly staff. The service is fantastic, and it's a perfect romantic setting! It's definitely the best spot for St. Patrick's Day!

Wonderful Sunday afternoon Jazz Quartet. I only stopped in to meet a friend but the menu and place is lovely. Will definitely be back.
