We chose this restaurant because it was close to where we were staying and it takes bookings unlike a lot of Melbourne restaurants.We ate here a year ago and the quality hasn't changed. Friendly welcoming staff who provided great service all night. A good variety of Italian food including pasta and pizza on offer as well as a good wine choice reasonably priced. The mushroom pasta and risotto were excellent as well as the gnocchi and seafood pasta other at our table ate. Highly recommend.
Ecco is a warm and friendly Trattoria....the food isnt fancy but authentic and comforting. My dining companion boldly decided we were going to share frozen Lemoncello with a slab of Tiramisu after our meal. I put my spoon into the creamy looking lump on the plate brought to us and thought immediately is had a different texture to anything I have tried in the past....it was divine!! Utterly divine. We were warmly greeted on a cool Friday night in Melbourne. The restaurant was warm, cosy and welcoming.The menu is fabulous and caters for all tastes but best of all Ecco have clearly indicated dishes for those of us with special dietary requirements. When are ALL restaurants going to do this?!!!! We were a party of 4 and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our choices. BYO wine too for $15/bottle. Can't get any better than that!
We had a very enjoyable meal at this restaurant.The Carpaccio Di Manzo and Polenta starters were excellent, followed by Rockling and Seafood Ravioli both which were also excellent.We thought the flavours were authentic Tuscany.While we would not make a special trip here, we would definitely Italy visit again if in the area. We really enjoyed a dinner here. It's a great little neighborhood Italian restaurant: friendly, bustling, wonderful food (including a gluten-free pizza!) and wines. The waiter was terrific and we enjoyed chatting about the food selection and Melbourne life. If we had had more time, I would have gone back again....
