The Italian restaurant ECCO is a regular facility in Lübeck because it has been in Lübeck for about 30 years. And for about as long as we go on there, eat pizza first. The house front is narrow, inside there is a pizza oven behind the vase. There is approx. 15 tables of different sizes, the restaurant extends backwards. At the end there is the kitchen, through a door next to the kitchen you reach the courtyard of the Old Town House in summer. There are also some tables in front of the restaurant on the street. But to eat here in the face of the many pedestrians and cars, I feel uncomfortable. The welcome is consistently friendly, as well as the farewell, a greeting was not owed to the staff...

Dropped by without reservation a busy saturday evening; they quickly found us a table next to the kitchen which was quite okay. We had bruschette for starters (why is it that bruschette and crostini are confused even in Italian restaurants? and filetto di manzo with Gorgonzola sauce for main course. The quite small bruschette were okay, but I could easily have made them better at home. The filetto was not from the best part of the fillet; on the other hand there was really a lot of sauce. The dish was served with small, nicely tasting bread from the pizza oven. 61€ including one espresso and two grappe on the house. The service was attentive and friendly all the way throug although there wer...

Reasonably priced average quality food. Cannelloni with spinach average commercial tasting filling. Pasta with broccoli 'scotto ' (pasta way overcooked). Best part of the meal was the mozzarella di bufala salad with rocket and tomato, but that 's not really cooking! Mozzarella was good. The words 'fatta in casa ' were dotted around the place here but don 't be fooled. Fine if you need a pizza or a quick late meal and are not fussy about quality. Bill came to 42 euro for mozzarella salad, 2 mains and 1/2 litre red wine.

This place had good food, a good house wine, and nice outdoor seating. Also, the prices were reasonable, as well. Our only negative was that the brother and sister running the place weren't all that welcoming and gave the impression that you being there was a bit of an inconvenience for them. However, the food was good and we still enjoyed our meal but found other places during our stay in Lubeck that seemed to appreciate our business more.
