Edith's Route 60 Diner

We were visiting family in the area and wanted a good diner breakfast before a day of sightseeing and outdoors enjoyment. Edith's popped up on the search and seemed like it would fit the bill--and it did! Laid back and old-school diner with very fair prices and portions. I had the country fried steak and eggs with homefries and a biscuit, my wife ordered an egg sandwich. We both enjoyed our food and hot coffee. This location is a family favorite for us. We have been having breakfast here for years, and I never considered leaving a review because this restaurant has transcended the traditional feeling of dining out and more so feels like we're having breakfast in a family friend's dining room. If you're traveling down Route 60 East or West, I highly recommend you give Ms. Edith a chance. The ambiance is so welcoming and friendly, and the staff are always ready to bring you a fresh cup of coffee and serve a delicious home-cooked meal. If you’re wanting a good home cooked meal and homey atmosphere then this is the place. It gave me a nostalgic feel. My 3 year old tore up the pancakes, my wife hates onions but ate every bit of them in the home fries. I had salmon cakes an omelette and it was great. A late morning breakfast on a rainy day at Edith's absolutely hit the spot. Lovely family, quick service, tasty food, and we caught up on local news on the TV. Down home and simple. Just a couple minutes off Rt 29.
