The salmon filet was served with vegetables—green beans, carrots, and beets—situated on a bed of white and wild rice and topped with Hollandaise sauce. Where do I even start? The Hollandaise was buttery with a hint of citrus. I usually complain about restaurants using too much sauce, but in this case, it was just perfect. The rice was fluffy and tasty, the salmon was cooked to perfection, and the veggies had a lovely al dente texture. This dish was absolutely amazing! My husband adored his steak. I was particularly impressed by the soup of the day: a tomato basil that might sound simple but was an unexpected blend of savory and slightly spicy flavors. It was truly memorable. I could tell that the chef's special soup was freshly made in small batches. Everything we had was hot, tasty, and fresh from the kitchen, complemented by friendly service. The front of house seemed to be managed by one of the owners, with a kitchen assistant helping out, all at unbelievably reasonable prices—everything in the low double digits in Canadian dollars, making it very affordable in US dollars. We wanted to support a small local restaurant to take out a gourmet meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We ordered the special for May 30 which was an 8 oz filet mignon with mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, veggies, salad and dessert. It was amazing! The steak melts in your mouth so tender and cooked to perfection. The price was extremely reasonable for what we got. I honestly have never had a steak dinner as a take out meal and was a little skeptical but the entire meal was to die for. We will definitely be ordering from Edward's again. Everything about this restaurant is fantastic! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the service is outstanding. The food is delicious, and the prices are unbeatable. Everything is fresh and made from scratch, even their ketchup! You can really tell they pay attention to every detail; even the salt shakers are filled with Himalayan pink salt instead of regular salt. My husband ordered a seafood omelette, which was quite generous in size and came with five enormous shrimp—a very generous serving indeed! Talk about value for money! The only bad review I have about this restaurant is that it's not open 24/7, excellent food, service and they treat the customers like people and not someone just sitting at a table.Don't expect your food to be served super fast as this restaurant cooks everything from scratch and nothing is pre-prepared and kept warm until someone orders it. Every meal they make is for the people who just ordered it, so you know it's fresh and done just to your individual liking. I personally give it Five Stars as I have eaten in other Five Star restaurants which didn't live up to their reputation. I had the Prime Rib last time I was there and I give it a 10 out of 10. BTW I'm a very fussy eater.
This is now my favourite place in town for brunch or supper! The service is warm and friendly, the menu has a wide assortment of foods to choose from and at a nice price too! I had carbonara over spaghetti for supper with chocolate mousse as desert. The following day I returned for brunch and got eggs benedict on a croissant with bacon and home fries. They even have home made ketchup and jam! The food came faster than expected, was served hot, and was absolutely delicious! I would 10/10 recomend this place to anyone who wants an amazing meal for a reasonable price!
I had the best breakfast ever. I ordered the 3-Egg Omelette Creole, with Avocado Shrimp. I have never had an omelette so light and fluffy. The plate was so full, lots of large shrimp and avocado. Amazing flavor! The only downfall was that it is self serve coffee. Not being a waitress, it was a little tricky navigating through the customers with their chairs pulled out. The only other negative would be the washroom. Instead of hand soap in a dispenser, they had a bar of soap. To me using a bar of soap that everyone else has used is not sanitary.
I've only had coffee n sweets here. They were quite alright to very good. High praise from an X montrealer). Pizza for 1 thin crust, very good. Not the famous Cornwall gut plaster.
