El Cortijo doesn’t look anything special from the outside, but once you venture in to their courtyard you will feel pleased you did so! Try and get one of the three tables at the rear of the courtyard, very secluded with some lovely features. We were here for menu del dia menu of the day) which was of a very high standard for the price . Bread with Alioli and tomato to nibble at whilst you peruse the menu. A bottle of decent wine was then brought out this is between two people). The service was extremely consistent, and you could tell they had their own system of serving you. Our order was taken, and it didn’t take too long to get our starters and a nice grade of salad. The mains were also good, and after a desert and coffee, we were all very content. All this for 10€ per person! It would be nice to revisit, but next time at night, as I feel the place would come across very different.
We come here for lunch regularly for some years now and it was always very good. Good food nice environment. Today it was a disappointing experience. The food was very good but the service bad. To start with the waitress brought the second dish to the table before we finished our first dish. Result, the meat on my wife's plate was cold by the time she got to it. Then after we finished the second plate. We waited ... and waited ... and waited.... No waitress came to our table to clean the plates (those of the first dish were still on the table) or to take our order for the desert. They served other tables but never looked in our direction. After 20 minutes of waiting I had enough of it. I went to the bar, made my complaint, paid the bill and left, without desert, without coffee, without leaving a tip. It is a shame. I liked to come here. Now it will take some time, who knows....
Our first visit to this traditional Spanish restaurant, with friends, one of whom had visited previously. We chose to sit in the shade outside in their pretty courtyard and enjoyed warm, fresh bread, alioli and tomato, and salad followed by seafood paella and pan fried salmon, veg and patatas fritas, then fresh pineapple or Vienetta or almond cake. All for just €10 apiece plus drinks and coffees. Good, friendly service too. Our first visit but not our last!
I have been to this restaurant several times but today was a great disappointment. The service was appalling and the food wasn't brilliant. Not only did they forget to bring the menu, when we ordered drinks they forgot them. Not once but twice. When we ordered the main course only 3 out of 4 pilares of food showed up. We had finished by the time the 4th plate arrived. Most disappointing. Will think twice about going back
