I ordered a chicken chimichanga, a plate of shrimp tacos, and four pupusas, and I was shocked when I received a bill for $84. I found it to be outrageous, so I brought it up to the server. She apologized and mentioned that she had accidentally charged me for another table. She voided the transaction and assured me that the money should be back in my account within a couple of days, but it’s definitely frustrating. We visited on a Friday and were initially relieved that we didn't have to wait long, but in the end, we ended up waiting quite a while.
The food at El Gavilan was delicious, especially their flavorful meats, which I highly recommend. However, the service was incredibly slow. My waitress didn’t check on me once, and I had to wait about five minutes just to ask for silverware. I wanted to order another drink but received no attention. I had to ask someone else for a box and then waited ten minutes for the bill, followed by an indefinite wait as the waitress stood around chatting and relaxing.
One of the most underrated restaurants in Montgomery County that I've been to in 17 years. Took my daughter here, sat outside and there was a giant connect 4 to play with. She had a cheese quesadilla that she enjoyed (and she's not a good eater). I had the Drunken Burrito and a house margarita. The outdoor spaces are well thought out, high quality furniture and unique. We will definitely be back a bunch!
I’ve never been to this restaurant in person, but I have ordered from them through Uber Eats. I recently tried their fajitas, and they are truly outstanding! I’ve gotten fajitas from other nearby places, but this one is by far the best. The steak is always tender and flavorful. While it is a bit more expensive than other options, it’s absolutely worth it.

The food was excellent! The fajitas and bistec were delicious. However, the service was somewhat slow and a bit forgetful. The flan had more orange syrup than I preferred. Parking is decent, though it can be a little tricky if you park directly in front.
The food was fantastic! Each dish was bursting with flavor, and the portions were very generous. The service was top-notch too. Everyone at our table left fully satisfied. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
My husband and I often go there for happy hour, and we really enjoy their margaritas! The food is tasty, and the service is outstanding.
