El Jarocho Mexican Store And Taqueria

For authentic tacos, there is no place better. This is a small bodega that has a kitchen in the back. You can get Mexican sodas, beers and other items you'd expect to find in a bodega, but the food is OUTSTANDING. The family that runs it also owns the El Nopal restaurant on the opposite end of the strip. They have all the greats for your tacos...Lengua, Al Pastor, Carne Asada, Cactus, chicken, Barbacoa and my favorite.....BIRIA. The tacos are all flat-topped on the la plancha so the base is crispy. They serve the Biria with a cup of consume for dipping. It's amazing. They garnish all the tacos with lots of onion and cilantro so if you are like me and allergic to onions, you need to tell them...

I'd add 5 more stars if I could. We've ordered three times for our office of 30 people and they've taken great care of us! Everyone raves about the tacos. Affordable and delicious. The team is helpful, even helping load the food at pickup. We love supporting local and love it even more when the product and service is top notch. Thank you to the team at El Jarocho. The Neighborly of St. Louis team of Mr. Rooter, AireServ Mr. Electric as well as Property Medic all LOVE El Jarocho.

The tacos are small and $4 a piece extremely over priced. Other than the price, the flavor isn't horrible. The quesabirria is not authentic. It’s more cheese than anything and they put pickled onions on it which is not normal nor authentic. The alambre was basically just hot dogs no chorizo or steak or cheese like it’s supposed to have. For the area it’s not bad. But it’s no where near authentic. This is coming from a Mexican household.

Absolutely some of the best tacos in St. Louis, particularly in this area. If you’re in the mood for a taco stand that feels like a grocery store, this is definitely a great choice. The food consistently tastes amazing, and the service is excellent. My only minor complaint is the TVs playing short videos; I’m not a fan of that. However, the lengua tacos are fantastic, and the nopal tacos are incredible as well! Réservez une table maintenant

Wonderful street tacos. I had the shrimp and carnitas. I need to go back to try other options. Following those with a mango soda made it over the top.

The food is excellent, and the staff is friendly. You place your order at the cashier in the front and then pick it up from the back kitchen.
