Restaurante El Vasco lies close to the Centre of Vila-Real, a small town to the south of Catellon de la Plana and 40 minutes drive north of Valencia, about 5km inland from the coast and about half way up the east side of Spain ! You would never find it or know about it unless you were a local, it is in a very unassuming building on a side street, just out from the centre of town. A very modest sign above the entrance announces its presence, in a residential building that almost hides it from view. exceptional Basque cuisine in villarreal, the chef asier Manzanos (official chef of the villarreal C.F delights us with an excellent tasting menu of exquisite traditional elaborations and a touch of fusion. In our case, we were able to choose the main one, since the arrival was so proposed (very successful, by the way. very rich the chickpeas and the coconut with noodles, as well as the seafood leaf. I can't think of the price, because it was company food. Large restaurant with private rooms and excellent treatment. highly recommended.
Impromptu stop due to visiting the gardens next to the restaurant. Don’t let the exterior put you off! Good food and friendly service, VIÑA POMAL house wine! Interior nicely done, burgers huge and freshly made, please note this is not a burger and chips restaurant! The menu choice is varied and well prepared in a traditional way. Seems a popular destination with the locals, plenty of parking at the back! I would visit again and have one of the traditional dishes.
