Esquire Restaurant

This restaurant is about as "Mom & Pop" style as you can get. No frills, basic, old style furniture, but clean, super friendly staff, and really popular among the locals. This is one of the places the tourists don't know about but the locals love. They win awards from local street paper The Coast for their chowder, and it really deserves the awards. Due to it's popularity, it frequently has long queues to get a table, which I don't like, but it is a small restaurant. It has been 8 years since I last visited The Esquire Restaurant. It hasn't changed much and good is still excellent. I had seafood chowder and a lobster roll. Chowder was a lot of seafood in a creamy broth with a few potatoes. It was wonderful and a meal itself. Lobster roll was chunks of lobster with a small amount of mayo and just enough celery to give it done crunch, excellent. They have home cooking comfort food specials everyday as well. Great Place!

This restaurant is very deceptive from the outside. Very popular with seniors. Specials on Monday to Wednesday (possibly to Friday). Staff very friendly and helpful. Food is exceptional especially the fish and chips and seafood chowder, and homemade desserts. Prices are reasonable especially for this type of menu. Not upper class, but if you want good home style cooking this is the place for sure. Definetely going back again before I return to Quebec

One of those restaurants that have been there forever and you have not gone.Looking for a good meal at reasonable prices this would be it, Comfort food for me, liver and onions, my wife a western sandwich and my daughter grilled fish. All were done with good size portions.The decor is a little dated but very clean. Staff friendly and personable. Would actually give a 4.5 but that is not available.If in the area worth a visit.

Stumbled upon this place by accident. Passed by it several times back and forth from the house we rented in Bedford for the week and didn't give it a second look. The girls at the Clearwater fish market recommended it and we had lunch there. Not fancy at all, but delicious homemade food at a great price point. Service was excellent. Must try the seafood chowder and burgers!

Stopped in for lunch at this restaurant which has been a staple here for years. Known for it's down home meals. Staff are all very friendly. Disappointed with meal ; chicken soup that was mostly canned peas , and less than stellar squished sandwich. Even though there is a H Vac unit , air was very stuffy and too warm.

Such a typical Maritime restaurant. The staff are super friendly and treat everyone like family. There are many regulars and the staff greet them as such when they come in. Super affordable. Great food and even good for senior sized portions.

The menu choices are your typical diner/comfort-food options and, because this is Canada, poutine available as a side dish with every meal. I specifically recall that our server was outstanding- execellent service.

I ordered the lobster chowder which was pricey at $13.50 considering there was hardly any lobster to be found in it. It wasn't more than a cup of soup either. Very disappointed.

We always go for breakfast. Food is always hot, service is quick and friendly. Great staff. Love the eggs Benedict. Great portions
