We have had takeout many time from the Evergreen Cafe and usually get the same items. The fact that we keep coming back is an indicator of how much we have enjoyed the food and the value. Well, today was different. The gyro salad and a gyro were both skimpy on quantity and quality. The lamb was dry and portion was about half of what it used to be. We question whether to return and will try to find another gyro location as much as we used to like this place.
Good customer service but the food could have been better. We ordered chicken Shawarma plates and sandwich. The taste wasn’t like how it is supposed to be. It looks like they are buying the products already made and ready to be cooked instead of starting from scratch. There is nothing wrong with that but it would be a way better and I think it will bring more customers when they have the actual way to make the shawarma/other plates without shortcuts.
By far the best gyro place ever . I know all about gyros. This place is the place to go if you are looking for authentic delicious gyro. Owner is super friendly generous and nice . Staff were great. But oh boy ,the food is on a diff level. Try their lamb loaded fries or lamb gyros and you will thank me later. Everything is fresh and organic. I would give it 100 stars if I could.
Everything was just wrong. The gyro had lettuce that was wilted spring mix, not iceberg. They topped it with canned sliced black olives, and the pita bread was chewey, store-bought, and just off. Also, I could barely eat a few bites of the walnut baklava. It tasted slightly bitter and was not at all flakey. I don't feel well after eating here, and will not be back. We tried this restaurant for the first time and it was a fantastic experience. The gyros were plentiful and tasty, the pitas were soft and perfectly cooked, and the dolmas were tender and flavorful. The fries were also exceptional, cooked perfectly with delicious seasonings. The sumac added a lovely bright and tart taste to the meal.
Our experience ordering from this restaurant was very disappointing. The Vegan Salad was not as described, with partly raw falafel, canned black olives, and missing the hummus. The Beef Gyro was also very grisly. Based on our experience, I would not recommend ordering from this restaurant.
I got the loaded fries with chicken and they were so good!!! A little salty tho, but non the less very good. The girl at the front desk was patient with us and very kind.Food: 5/5

Hummus is outstanding, lamb gyro is the best in town. Obsessed! And the prices are amazing!
