The service was a little bit quirky but the lone waitress served people in the order they came in. This meant we had to wait for a menu. The menus could have been dropped off at our table as she was taking the orders of the patrons (who had menus already) who were ahead of us. We eventually ordered the Euro platter and the Benny sandwich from the lunch menu. I was a little worried about our order as the waitress told us on the weekends most people order from the breakfast menu. The Euro Platter had two soft boiled eggs, bread sticks, hummus, grilled vegetables and a little ramekin of fruit. My wife and I had an early Sunday morning breakfast today. We ordered what we always do, two eggs, bacon/peameal etc. What made this meal exceptional was the little touches. Without saying it was all cooked perfectly, but I'm talking about the little dish of fresh cut apple/orange/strawberry/grapes, the cucumber slice with tomato wedge and cheese, the chunky unrefined sugar for the coffee. Wonderful peacock feather table decoration, and the waitress was top notch. The place was busy and she was hustling to ensure no one was going without too long. We like to try Simcoe and area restaurants while camping at Turkey Point Provincial Park, and on our last trip we chose Ferrera for breakfast. The restaurant is small and quaint, and we weren't really sure what to expect. But then we began to notice how good other diners' meals looked. And our breakfast choices--two-egg breakfast and BLTP sandwich--did not disappoint. They seem to genuinely care about serving excellent food here. The quality and freshness of every ingredient, the attention to detail and little extras, we appreciated all of it. We are already looking forward to returning on our next Turkey Point camping trip!
I stopped by for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by not only the amazing soup with fresh bread, but also the ambiance of what I initially thought was a small cafe but is indeed a first rate restaurant, albeit in the small side. The coffee was also wonderful. Someone commented on the owners use of little cream jugs with coffee, saying it was unnecessary but I disagree. It's touches like that, that make it first rate to me and give it a special touch lacking in so many local restaurants. I will definitely go back to try another lunch and breakfast. Joined my wife and daughter here today at their request (they go on occasion). Each ordering a different sandwich it ended up can I try at bite? All 3 were very good, probably some of the best sandwiches I've had. The Top Notch Sandwiches were sided by Top Notch Service, our server was friendly and always paying attention to see if anyone in the place needed something.Definitely won't make my first trip my last...
I always get the same menu item because I love it so much, the Mediterranean chicken sandwich. This makes me somewhat useless for reviewing the food overall at this restaurant. Oh well, I don't care. Gimme the usual!What I can tell you is that it's more like home cookin' because they don't have a deep-fryer there, but it's more creative than I ever get for lunch at home. And the coffee is good.
Been here for breakfast 3 or 4 times now and it's by far the best in the area that we have found. Food is excellent quality, portions are huge, service is great and the prices are more than reasonable. I can only speak for breakfast / brunch here as I haven't tried their lunch yet but I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be awesome. Great little spot!
