The portions are generous here; one tamale could easily be a full meal on its own. I enjoyed the taco salad, though it felt more like a small salad served with my beef. If you’re a big meat lover or appreciate larger portions, you’ll find plenty to satisfy you. The taco shell was delicious, but I prefer a better balance of meat and salad. It was unusual that there was no shredded cheese in the salad; I’ve never had one without cheese before. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. However, I wasn't a fan of the greenish sauce on the tamale; I think it would have been better without it or paired with a cheese sauce instead.
We arrived just in time for the tail end of happy hour and ordered the huge double margarita pictured. My wife enjoyed the Camerones Veracruz while I had the Deluxe Enchiladas filled with ground beef. The portions were generous, and we ended up needing to take a soggy bag home because the food was just too good to waste. The service was excellent as well. We sat outside, reveling in the brisk fall air, and watched highlights from the World Cup games on Telemundo. Overall, it was a lovely evening, and the prices were quite reasonable too. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Mt. Dora.
This is undoubtedly the best restaurant in Mount Dora, as evidenced by how consistently busy they are. The food is always fresh and expertly prepared. Every salsa they offer is fantastic, and their guacamole and queso dip are exceptional. You can really tell they make their chips in-house. My family dines here at least twice a month, and I often come for their happy hour as well. Their house margarita is strong and goes perfectly with any dish. If you haven't been yet, treat yourself to some of the best Mexican food in Central Florida, hands down.
First of all, yes to the tortilla chips and salsa – they were fantastic! They reminded me of Don Pablo's. If you find yourself choosing between "shredded chicken or grilled chicken" on the menu, definitely opt for the grilled. It was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. I ordered the chimichanga, and honestly, I could barely finish half of it. You might think I'm taking the easy way out, but now I get to enjoy it again later! Our server was great, and the food arrived quickly and steaming hot.

I asked for extra items in two separate notes, but they were forgotten. The takeout portions are disappointing—more like a child's meal than a regular size. I ordered the Texanas fajitas, which were mostly green peppers and onions, with barely any meat. It’s supposed to come with steak, chicken, and shrimp, but I hardly got any meat at all.
For $7 queso, it is sure lacking in chips. Maybe next time fill the whole styrofoam box? Its like restaurants dont care what they give you because you are not there to complain.
