Firebirds Wood Fired Grill West Des Moines

We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The staff was courteous. The restaurant was intolerably hot, and when we asked that it be addressed, we were told that the AC was on. Service was very slow even though the restaurant was only about half full. About half of our party ordered a cocktail, and these were good. The food, however, was not. Literally half of one person's prime rib was obviously fat, and another person ordered sirloin, what was very tough. A dinner salad was bruised lettuce and drowning in dressing. The food and wait service were fine. However, the restaurant was running late in searing reservations. I had a reservation and was called at for seating. This would have been completely understandable but the maitre de was extremely rude. My party had arrived at the restaurant at checked in and was told to wait…. Then when called minutes later was asked if we still wanted our table… we were told if not we could just leave. Why? We hadn’t even asked about seating or anything. Bad night? Bad day? Or just rude? Doesn’t matter… the conversation was completely unacceptable!!! I have a choice where to eat and plan to choose welcoming venues in the future!!!

Once again Firebird's didn't disappoint. Food was tasty, service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere had a nice buzz to it. We enjoy the wine list and were pleased with our selection of an Oregon Pinot Noir It was my wife's birthday and she was treated with a delicious cheesecake dessert, a card signed by the staff, and a vase of flowers to take home. It was an unexpected and nice touch.

The service here was super poor, our waitress hardly came over to check up on us. Didn’t offer to refill our drinks at all. The food all came out cold. We will most likely not be returning here. Réservez une table maintenant

My 2nd visit to Firebird Wood-Fired Grill. The food was excellent and the service even better. I sat at the bar where Liam and staff provided excellent, friendly service

My wife and I needed a night out and Paul, our waiter, took very good care of us. The food was great and we really enjoyed our evening.
